Thunder has lit up our lives in so many ways. He is co-owned by Leila Downen and Sharon Sakson, and the breeder, Faye Wouterlood. Leila and I argue constantly over who has him when; we both want him full-time. (When I complained to Leila that she was not giving me joint custody, her reply was: "Get a lawyer!)
He is the most attentive, loving, obedient Griff imaginable. He is a gentleman at all times. His show record in the U.S. is nothing short of incredible: he as Winners Dog at the National Specialty in 2001. Shown only one weekend as a special, he won an impressive Best of Breed class and went on to a Toy Group 3.
As a sire, he produced a litter of 4 healthy puppies from Norma & Bob Sellers' Ch. Parisfield McPocket Mill. Thunder's bloodline comes primarily from the New Zealand kennel of the late Mollie Grocott. He is tightly inbred, the result of a brother to sister mating, and he has stamped his type on his puppies thus far.
Judges who know the breed keep telling us that they are impressed by his breed specific body type. The correct body type has been lost, so it is a welcome shock to see this short-backed, big-headed, heavily--boned Griff.
